The Business Development Manager, Federal Sales Group, is responsible for meeting monthly, quarterly and annual financial and pipeline targets by identifying, qualifying, following the RWD sales process to conclusion and closing sales.  The incumbent will sell RWD's complete portfolio of solutions in an assigned territory which can include one or more of the following; 

 

  • New customers in Department of Defense within the United States
  • Penetrate existing assigned accounts with new opportunities

 

The Business Development Manager, Federal Sales Group, is expected to prospect within their assigned territory, qualify leads, conduct solution demonstrations, write effective proposals, negotiate, and close new business. In addition he/she will function as the customer contact and advocate building a deep understanding of each customer’s strategic direction, identifying and shaping customer requirements, developing a winning strategy and teaming across RWD. 

 

The position requires an individual who brings deep Department of Defense knowledge, has experience in complex selling environments and proven results growing new business initiatives and penetrating account relationships.

 



Required Qualifications:
  • Ten years of business experience
  • Knowledge of learning strategies and deliverables including instructor led, web-based self-paced and collaboration solutions
  • Five or more years of sales experience selling services within the Department of Defense directly and through channels and partners
  • Achievement of minimum quota of two million dollars per year as an individual sales contributor
  • Demonstrated success in growing new business initiatives in the Department of Defense
  • Demonstrated success building relationships at the C-level, Program level and Project level
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
  • Willing to travel up to 75%
  • Applicants selected for this position might be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, we will consider only applicants with security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Residence within 30 mile radius of Washington DC
  • Active or inactive security clearance
  • MBA or another related advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field
